Three Media Studio runners raise over £1000 for charity

Months of pounding the streets in preparation have paid off for three of Media Studio's photography team. Jaclyn Swindell, Kimberley Baxter and Melanie Yeneralski all completed the Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon on Sunday 15th March. And because it was the first time any of them had taken part in a half marathon race they all achieved a personal best!
The 13.1-mile event took place at the Silverstone race track, where Formula One cars were replaced by thousands of runners. First home was the famous wheelchair racer, David Weir, in an incredible 46:18. The fastest runner was William Mycroft of Cambridge and Coleridge Athletic Club in 1:10:59 and the first woman Hannah Turner of the Harpenden Arrows in 1:24:12. Our intrepid runners were only slightly behind: Mel Yeneralski romped home in 2:31:05, not far behind Kim Baxter (2:27:35), while the star of the day was Jaclyn Swindell (2:20:06). A great effort, but even more impressive was their fundraising achievement, each running for a different charity:

Jac collected an amazing £625 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association in memory of her late father-in-law Paul Swindell. Donate HERE

Mel ran for the mental health charity Mind, collecting (so far) £100. Donate HERE

Kim ran for Alzheimer's Research in memory of her grandma, and raised £300. Donate HERE
